When one or more bones of your spine move out of position and create pressure on or irritate spinal nerves, doctors call it a subluxation. The pressure on the nerves that come out from between the bones of your spine causes them to malfunction, and that can lead to a variety of problems throughout your body.
Since your central nervous system controls and coordinates all the functions of your body, any interference in those signals can cause pain and severely limit the function of your nerves, limbs, and muscles.
Through a series of chiropractic adjustments,
Caldwell Chiropractic Center PC can locate subluxations and correct or reduce them. We'll apply techniques and training that other professionals do not have. Call today

Chiropractors have studied subluxations for over 100 years. There's a growing body of evidence that subluxations are dangerous and that your nervous system needs to operate at its highest level of health. Chiropractors are the only health professionals trained in detecting, locating, and correcting the vertical subluxation complex.
The vertical subluxation complex (VSC) is the combination of changes in your spine and throughout your body. It includes two key components:
- Soft tissue component
— Misaligned vertebrae and pressure on the nearby nerves can result in changes in the surrounding soft tissues (ligament, tendons, blood supply, and other tissues). The changes may occur near the VSC, or they may happen at the endpoint of an affected nerve. Histopathology (the study of tissues) can help us understand these conditions.
- Chemical component
— When all the components of the vertical subluxation complex act on your body, they can cause chemical changes (also called biochemical abnormalities). These chemical changes can be minor or major, depending on which part of your body is affected.
